SONG HAIZENG

Song Haizeng has participated in exhibitions with his paintings in China, elsewhere in Asia, Europe and the USA. Song Haizeng is one of the very few contemporary Chinese artists who aims to make people feel positive and cheerful through his artwork, unlike many of his contemporaries who seek attention by showing the grotesque. Song Haizeng feels that life is short, and people should enjoy it.

Song Haizeng paints himself. Apart from it being the easiest for him to pose, Song Haizeng explains that he finds himself to be very "ordinary" - and what he wants to portray is an ordinary person. It is indeed modest of Song Haizeng, such a talented painter, to say that he is not special. But the artist says that he does not have talent - all of his success came from dogged determination and hard work.
