BAI YILUO
Bai Yiluo is a self-taught photographer who trained himself in art in the early nineties. At that time he was a factory worker in Luoyang, his native city. Finding the work monotonous, Bai Yilou and his friend Zhuang Hui began to explore photography as a means of self-expression. Bai Yiluo has since developed an extremely sophisticated, individual photographic language and is now broadly exhibited internationally, including the V&A, London and the Pompidou Center, Paris.
Bai Yiluo’s work is characterized by huge dimensions as well as by an extremely time consuming, meticulous manual labor. Most often the work is connected with the artist's personal experience and background.
